with Pegah Ahmadi, Pouya Ahmadi
Having practiced typography in the Middle East, Europe, and the USA over the past decade, brother and sister Pouya and Pegah Ahmadi have become increasingly interested in the area of Latin and non-Latin typography. Their work is about the intercultural dialogues, the in-betweens, the thresholds, and the non-retinals that stretch the limits of articulation.

About Pegah Ahmadi
Pegah Ahmadi is a designer, educator, and writer. As a designer, she serves at Morningstar where her primary responsibility is the user experience and interface design of an advanced investment research platform.
As an educator, she currently teaches the Digital Media Design class at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Originally from Iran, Pegah started teaching in 2005 when she served as an Adjunct Professor in the Graphic Design program at the University of Applied Science and Technology in Tehran. She taught Typography, Layout, and Poster Design. Since 2012, she has been contributing as an Editorial Board Member to Neshan Magazine, where she has written numerous essays and book reviews on graphic design, new media, and visual culture.
Pegah received her master’s degree in Graphic Design from the UIC/HGK program at the Basel School of Design in Switzerland and her MFA in Industrial Design from the University of Art in Tehran. Pegah has recieved honors and awards including GDFS International Poster Exhibition, A’Design Award, and STA 100 competition.
About Pouya Ahmadi
Pouya Ahmadi is a Graphic Designer, researcher, and educator. He is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Illinois at Chicago and also serves as an Editorial Board Member of Neshan magazine.
Pouya’s independent work has been featured nationally and internationally in exhibitions, publications, and design blogs such as Graphic Design Festival Scotland, Golden Bee International Design Biennial, Design Museum of Chicago, Grafik, Etapes, Print magazine, IdN magazine, AIGA Eye On Design, Type Directors Club, It’s Nice That, The Society of Typographic Arts, and many more.
Pouya holds MA and MAS degrees in Visual Communication and Image Research from the FHNW HGK The Basel School of Design in Switzerland, and a MFA in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
