Sara De Bondt will share images and stories from her research on multidisciplinary graphic design practices in Belgium in the 1960s and 1970s. Structured around different keywords, the talk will make links to today’s typographic landscape and Sara’s own practice as a designer and publisher.
About Sara De Bondt
Sara De Bondt is a graphic designer and co-director of non-profit publisher Occasional Papers.
Recent commissions include the identity of Taipei Biennial 2018, a catalogue for Jessica Stockholder at Centraal Museum Utrecht, mobile designs for the Wellcome Collection London and a new website for the Flemish Architecture institute.
In 2008 she founded Occasional Papers together with Antony Hudek, and since then has co-edited three of its books: The Master Builder: Talking with Ken Briggs, The Form of the Book Book (both with Fraser Muggeridge) and Graphic Design: History in the Writing (1983–2011) (with Catherine de Smet).
Sara is curating an exhibition at Design Museum Gent (October 2019 – March 2020) and teaches at KASK – School of Arts, where she is doing a PhD in the Arts.
